I love the inspiration that Among the Realms Radio provides. They truly discuss some pertinent and timely subjects. Tomorrow night they will be talking about negative energies, what they are and how to avoid and protect against them.

Immediately I was reminded of the Rarr.
Recently the Rarr has been coming up quite often in my readings. He is not positive or negative, he simply represents energy… pure unadulterated energy. The problem with energy, however, is it tends to want to find places to ground. The bright powerful human soul, encased in a chemically charged, earth-bound body is fantastic grounding for energy that has no idea where to go.
Sometimes this energy represents negativity, like when someone encounters a spirit consumed in anger. This can happen paranormally as with a haunted location, with intent such as with a psychic vampire or someone wishing you harm, or simply in day-to-day interactions, such as with severe aggressive driving (we’ve all been on the receiving end of that one!). Often, however, this energy is just that - energy. It has a charge, but that charge isn’t necessarily positive or negative… it just exists. And because it has a charge, it clings … like static electricity. And often that’s how I see the Rarr come up readings.
This energy can be leftover from an argument, or as part of a lover’s meeting. Any energy that isn’t utilized or grounded flies out into the atmosphere, and like a piece of dust it is gravitationally, or statically, attracted to the first piece of vibrant living energy that it can attach to.
Yes, that means you.
Unfortunately, even when this energy feels positive (like little pieces of a lovers’ tryst that fly off into the night), when it attaches where it doesn’t belong it doesn’t feel good. I will reiterate that this is slightly different than having a dark or negative spirit attach itself to you… but not entirely.
All of this energy that doesn’t belong to us starts to weigh us down. Consider all of the energy we willingly take on that isn’t truly ours - overtaxing to-do lists, guilt, regret… We’re all aware of a semi-conscious holding-on of things that aren’t really ours, but in doing this we begin to leave ourselves open for energy we are completely unaware of to attach to our ragged ends. It’s like the universe trying to balance itself. We feel ragged, and therefore ragged unattached energy says, “oh! We can attach to these ragged edges and make them smooth and shiny.”
Except it doesn’t really work that way. In theory perhaps, but in the end this smooth-shiny-not-ours-ness turns into a cloak we never wanted and never asked for that weighs us down through our day-to-day lives.
Underneath that all we can find ourselves. The question is how to do that.
